Hey,
Any suggestions for a brass quintet name?
Just started a few weeks ago and it's going to be a great group,
but we can't come up with a name.
Cool,
thanks,
Bill

Belle Chanson (french  for "beautiful music")

I also like the idea of a local plant. For example:
  • Bougainvillea Brass
    Honeysuckle Brass
    Wysteria Brass (or Wysteria Winds)
    Ivy Five
    Willow Tree Brass
    Winds in the Willows
    Willow Winds
    Bent Willow Brass
    Tall Pines Brass Quintet
Or list all the neighborhoods or districts anyone in your group could EVER REMOTELY consider themselves a part of -- lived there, worked there, whatever -- and see if any of them have names that "sound" southern and classy; then stick "brass", "winds" or "quintet" on the end.

And let us know what you decide on!

Atlanta?

Jackass Brass

of course, in homage to the humble mule which was the backbone of all of Georgia's resurrection after the Wa-wh.

The problem is finding something original, that NOBODY has ever used, like

The Woodwind Brass Quintet

no?, how about

The Quintic Brass Quintet

The Quaintest Brass Quintet

The Brusque Brass Quintet

maybe something topical, like

The Burkha Brass Quintet

For something close to the heart, how about

Victoria's Secret Brass or some variant thereof.

Call yourself the "Whatever" Brass Quartet and then say you are the largest quartet in the world.....

Is there a geographic area, river or valley near your area. Or is there a cultural or ethnic concentration of the group.?

I've always liked Heavy Metal but in my city that name is already taken.

Are you talking to me, or one of the other seven guys?
Almost everyone I know in brass quintets or string quartets has been asked that question at least once.
