John Packer JP077 E-flat

I'm contemplating the purchase of a John Packer JP077 E-flat tuba; has anyone tried one of these?
I am most concerned about the horn's response and intonation, as well as the accessibility of the false tones; having the main tuning slide before the valves has me a bit concerned about the possibility of weak or unusable false tones.
