Hard Case/Travel advice needed for an old Conn 36K

I'm looking to travel to NYC this year for the 50th anniversary of Tubachristmas. Unfortunately, my usual method of transporting my horn, driving, is an absolute last resort (due to distance and timing), so I'm looking to fly.

I have an old style (pre-factory change) Conn 36K that I perform with, and I have no idea what sort of hard case to buy that will fit it, nor what would be appropriate for air travel. Googling and forum searching didn't seem to help me out there. I worry because I have gotten gig bags before that were "universal" but ended up being such a tight fit that it caused damage to the horn.

Does anyone have any advice specifically on a case that will fit it, and additionally how to fly with a sousaphone in general?

Walt Johnson did make sousaphone flight cases, but I don't know if they are still in business.

SKB sousaphone case is the best choice for this. It’ll fit your horn
