Leaving your tuba in a hot car
With much of the US of A in a heat wave right now, I gotta ask a practical question: Is there any harm in leaving your tuba in a hot car during the day?

It reverses the cryogenic freezing!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

The only issue would be if it is too hot to hold when you get it out to play.

Just make certain your valves don't get too dry before you start to play. Personally, I'm not a fan of the grease on my tuning slides going back and forth in viscosity (whatever the right word would be) from radical temperature changes in either direction. That's just me. The way things are these days, I would NEVER leave a tuba in my car unattended, unless I could keep my eyes upon the car.

Re: Leaving your tuba in a hot car
I always re-oil my valves after my instrument has gotten toasty, just in case there has been any extra evaporation from the heat, but other than that I can't imagine how any part of a tuba could be hurt by like 160°F.
