Mouthpiece for BBb Baritone use in Brass Band

Post by SouthernOhio53 »

Good morning Brass Band friends. If you play a true British Baritone in a Brass Band, what mouthpiece do you use?

Thanks so much in advance!

The receiver for a BBB baritone is the same as for an American/Hybrid bari/euph, which is in bore and profile between a BBB bari & euph, and which I have played for a couple of years in a community band. I use a Denis Wick Ultra SM6U. It is the same diameter as a Bach 6 1/2 AL, but the cup is deeper than the Bach so the low range is smoother. If you want a slightly larger cup diameter, you can get it in a SM5U and a SM4U, and a slightly shallower cup (solo work?) SM4X.
