Hi,
I have an older Yamaha euphonium, but I can't tell if it is a 641 or 642. Does anyone know the differences between the two models?

Real answer: is there nothing printed on the second valve casing? Purple/brown-ish Yamaha logo on the bell?

Nothing on either the bell, nor the second valve!

There’s a picture in this post linked below of a 642 next to a 641. The bell diameter is a bit larger on a 642 and the false piece or handle is curved and more comfortable to hold.

Check the front part of the 2nd valve. Yamaha always put the model number on that part (and the serial number in the backside)
The 641 has an 11 inch 1 piece bell. Also the finger buttons are bigger (321 like) instead of the newer and smaller and lighter buttons from the 642 and above horns.
If it is really old, then It should be 641 cause that is the precursor of the 642.
