Hey all! I have had some success with practice mutes in the past and understand their limitations. For my trombone, I have a Bremner Sshh mute and for my euphonium I have a Silent Brass mute. I am reasonably happy with both.
I recently purchased an F Tuba. I know that the euphonium mute is much too small and I assume that the practice mutes designed for CC and BBb contrabass tubas might be too large. Does anyone have any recommendations for a practice mute designed for F tubas?

Hi,
Schlipf practice mutes are very good, yet expensive though. The do not stick out of the tuba bell (could then also be transported with the tuba in the gig bag) and are not too top heavy. Had also a Denis Wick one for my Besson Eb.

Thank you Chris and Tyler for the suggestion of the Schlipf mute! I reached out to Chris Hite at Buddy Roger's Music / Willis Music and he was able to size and ship me a -1 sized Schlipf mute right away. I'll update when I receive and try it out later this week.
