Arnold Jacobs’ birthday – 7th book published on his life & teaching

June 11th is the birthday of the legendary Arnold Jacobs (1915-1998) – tubaist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for forty-four years. A seventh book about his life and teaching has been published by Scholar Publications of Chicago: Arnold Jacobs: His Artistic and Pedagogical Legacies in the 21st Century by Louis E. Loubriel & Michael Grose.
Mr. Jacobs was my tuba instructor at Northwestern University and I’m very grateful to have studied with him. Lessons took place at the Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue in the Chicago Loop.
