Protect silver plating/Flic attachment

Hi Tubenetters,
I will be installing a Flic button on my first valve slide on my silver plated MW2182W F tuba. I am hoping that flipping pages with the Flic will be easier and more intuitive than a foot pedal.
I have a plastic holder that will secure the Flic to the horn. What would be the best material to put between the plastic holder and the tuba? Rubber, cork, felt, leather, nothing???
I would appreciate your inputs on the material that will cause the least damage to the silver plate. Thanks...
