Looking for Gig Bag recommendations

I'm looking for recommendations for a gig bag for an Eastman EBB226 BBb tuba. This is a smaller tuba with a 15.5 " bell and is about 33" tall. I already have a Protec Platinum that I used with other tubas and will use for now, but it is larger than I need. I am considering having a Cronkhite bag made in Cordura, because the leather is heavier than I want, but it doesn't look like they have a shoulder strap, and I hate using backpack straps. It looks like Gard has a bag that would work, but they are all top loading and I want a side load. Does anyone have recommendations for one that would fit that has a shoulder strap?

Cronkhite will add a shoulder strap if you request it. I seem to recall it was an extra $50. You could also request they make yours without the backpack straps if you want to save additional weight. If you do delete the backpack straps -then ask them to do the shoulder strap for free. If anything it’s cheaper and easier for them to do the shoulder strap in lieu of the backpack straps and in a perfect world your final cost ought be somewhat less. If it were me I’d ask for that, but being willing to settle for the shoulder strap in lieu of the back pack straps at the same price. I believe if you sign up for the newsletter there is a 25% discount for new customers. Calling them and discussing exactly what you want & need is probably best. Good Luck!
I called them yesterday and they said that they won't do a shoulder strap on a tuba bag. He claimed that the hooks on the strap eventually break causing the tuba to drop, so they won't do it. I mentioned that it was a relatively light weight tuba, and he considered it for a second, but then said that he wasn't willing to do it. It was also about the large number of different tuba bag patterns they have and not being willing to modify one to put on a shoulder strap.

I'm in the market and I will probably either go with another Meinl-Weston bag (does anyone know how to buy these separately from a tuba?) or one of these: https://altieribags.com/collections/tuba-bags
