yes. Editions BIM is the way to go for the first two. I found it rather difficult to get Tuba Buffo, however. (i'll be at markneukirchen too) this is what i did... first i found the piece online at the publisher's site. here is a link.

http://www.mic.stim.se/avd/mic/prod/mus ... enDocument

don't worry if that doesn't work. all you really need is the publisher contact, which is

swedmic@stim.se

just email them and say you want to buy tuba buffo and give them your address. they sent it to me in less than two weeks. then you'll have to go back on their site and pay with a credit card within a month of receipt. (they'll send you a link to the pay page in an email) act quickly; that piece is a bitch!!

good luck, and see you in germany,

p.s. there are 5 americans going to markneukirchen: you, me, Jake Kline (u of m), Kent Eshelman (uw-madison), and someone else. you wouldn't happen to know the fifth guy, would you?

Carol:

Cathy Simmons is also entering Markneukirchen. Although technically not an American (she's from the UK), she's a doctoral student at Northwestern where she's been studying tuba for the last couple of years.

Good luck to you!

Whatever one may think about competitions,

they should not have their outcome depending on logistics running sour.

In the outset the arrangers should make sure, that at least one source can provide the necessary number of copies. And that source should be told of in the competition prospects.
