I was just wondering how many people use the practice method of big chunks (ex...practice 2 hrs. then break for 40 min.) or small chunks (ex...practice 30 min. then break for 10 min.) I used to practice 4 hours with little 5 min. breaks here and there, but now I'm experimenting with the small chunks method. I heard that Oystein Baadsvik used to practice 8 hours a day but would do small intense chunks (practice 20 min. break for 10)

I'll go with more frequent small chunks.

It's a good idea to increase the number of beginnings and endings of your practice sessions. The stuff in the middle has a higher chance of being forgotten.

Practice? We're talkin' about practice!

I used to practice in college what I need to practice. I usually didn't set a time. It could be 1 1/2 and done or 4 hours and not done. Now days, I'm glad when I get to practice scales and stuff.
