Cool Wind Tubas

Post by Dan Schultz »

Well.... I've been intrigued about the plastic Cool Wind tubas ever since they hit the market. Last year I snagged one off of FleaBay. It was advertised as 'damaged in shipment' but knowing that I have been known to fix about anything I went ahead and bought against my better judgement. Almost a year later I'm still struggling to get the thing to play at an acceptable level. If you own one.... what had been your experience?

Well.... I 'fiddled' with a Cool Wind tuba for a month or so thinking I could make it play at a reasonable level. I've posted my opinion and a load of images on Facebook. If you are contemplating buying one of the Cool Wind piston tubas... don't until you read this.
