I'll be the first to tell you that it should be looked at by a good brass repairman. I would personally want to know if the valves are out of alignment or not. You might want to try a thicker oil if you haven't already. Good luck!

The valves on my 1971 Besson BBb comp tuba are really good. So, I must say you probably need to have them checked out by a good tech. Hetmans is a good oil. If there is any wear at all on the valves, but not enough to warrant a replate/refit/relapping, then use a slightly heavier oil to seal up the ports.

Do you notice any dings, dents or anything that seems just not quite "square" around the valve slides or the ports between valves? Sometimes something like that can affect the valve casings without seeming visible.
