Tuba stand?

Can anyone reccomend a good tuba stand to hold my tubas while I'm not playing? I need on to fit both a Miraphone 188 and 181 (but not at the same time, of course ).

I use the K & M stands for both my tuba and euph. These are well made and adjustable for just about all tubas. Like anything else, however, they need to be used with a good dose of common sense. If I had a dog or children, I'd probably stick with the case. I keep my euph on its stand up against the back of a sofa and out of traffic.

I'm trying avoid standing them on their bells. I've seen too much damage that way. Putting them back in their cases is the best idea, but I need something quick and easy for my practice room.

I've got one of the K&M stands that's pretty nice. With correct adjustment, the tuba is quite stable and doesn't slip around in the stand. That said, the horn can still slip and the entire unit can tip if it gets bumped good enough so I'd recommend keeping it away from high traffic areas during rehearsals and such. For home studio use, it's just the ticket though.

I agree:
- Tuba on bell = bad.......crinkled bells are ugly.

- Tuba on K&M stand = better - I leave mine in a stand in my practice room (always ready...even if I'm not!)......works great for gigs too!

- Tuba in case = best for protection, but a pain if you don't have room for the empty cases when your using the tuba.
