This year's TubaChristmas in Chicago will be at the Palmer House Hilton this Saturday, December 17. Unlike previous years, registration will start at noon, rehersal at 1pm and the concert at 3pm.

This is the first tome that this will be held in the afternoon - note the change from previous years!

Thanks for the heads up. I did notice the change. Just out of curiosity what brought on the change this year?

I think this can be better since I can now get the whole family there without taking the non Tuba playing kids out of school.

I am not sure why it was changed, probably the availability of the hall at the Palmer House.

Occupancy at the Palmer House's hall was limited by the fire code, and two shifts of tuba playing resulted, but there was still little room for the public (as I remember the discussions).

I'm glad the sponsors found a replacement venue [make that replacement date].

It is in the same hall at the Palmer House just like last year and the year before. Not being during the Midwest week makes this a smaller event and more of a Chicago area event. There will only be one show.
