Even if it looks like a B&S/PT F-tuba valve block, it is not so.
The 5th is a long whole step. But unlike the tubas, it has the largest bore, as there is a graduate bore. I am not entirely convinced, that the placement of this 5th valve tubing looks beautiful. But it must be counted as a bonus, that there at all is a 5th valve. To the boot supplemented but a main tuning slide trigger.
The finding of this cimbasso was a by-product of my googling after documentation for the Schalmeien thread.
There are no prices listed, but I see no signs that we are speaking of a discount level maker. That even if they make Schalmeien variants directly aimed at the huge German soccer fan market.
And then they have taken musical kitsch to its peak:

The same thought occured to me. I'm working on an Eb Cimbasson now in my shop. It will have a long cylindrical bore of .687". They(Voigt) must be referring to the increasing bore size with the valve cluster. It does make some sense within the context of what's popular with dual bore slides on bass bones.tuben wrote:ok... I don't understand.... the website touts this cimbasso as having a conical bore.... if a cimbasso is really a valved, contra bass member of the trombone family, shouldn't it be cylindrical?
