Wed. Dec. 14 Update.......

GREAT NEWS!!!
I just learned that Alan Baer, principal tubist with the New York Philharmonic, will be joining us as the guest conductor, for this year's Rockland County TubaChristmas!

We hope you can join us!

*************************************************************

Rockland County (NY) is celebrating TubaChristmas
next Sunday, December 18th, at 3:00 p.m.

We started a new tradition last year, by performing for the Helen Hayes (rehabilitation) Hospital. Helen Hayes Hospital is recognized throughout the entire tri-state area, as a premier rehabilitation hospital, and it is a very positive place to perform. They have an extensive concert series there, and a lot of people from outside the hospital come to the performances, so the audience ends up being a mixture of patients & the general public. Last year, the audience was great, and I was told that it was the most successful event that they have ever had there!

Here is the official info from the TC website:

ROCKLAND COUNTY - WEST HAVERSTRAW - SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18 - TIME: 3:00 pm
LOCATION: Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital
REGISTRATION: 11:30 am same
REHEARSAL: 12:00 noon same
PARKING: Ample parking around the hospital.
NOTE: The hospital supports a very successful, varied concert series, which is open to the public, and is well attended. The performance will be in the Main Atrium area, rehearsal is in a separate location within the building. For hospital information & directions see web site below.

I have spoken to them about supplying snacks in between the rehearsal and the performance (as we had done at Bear Mountain, in the past). I just hope that it does not turn out to be "hospital Jell-O"! :D

Please come join us. Sharing your music with the folks at the hospital, would be a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

I've printed my maps/driving directions and oiled my valves...all ready to go! How about a special sign-in for TubeNet members?
It would be nice to know which of us was there.
