There is a great reissued recording on D.Gramaphon of Shostakovich 10th Symphony and the Stravinsky concerto , might be worth getting hold of a recording to familierise yourself with the score , don't know how much exposed tuba work ( if any) there is.

I played the tuba part on the Stravinsky Violin Concerto about 8-9 years ago. Upper range was not too high, nor was the low range excessively low. There are some licks in there that are very precise rhythmically, so be sure to watch the stick and listen to the solo violin. It's a really nice piece, and I think you will enjoy playing it. Good luck.
