I have scoured many, many on-line sheetmusic sites looking for 13-piece brass ensemble arrangements---4 tpt, 2-3 F horn, 4 trb, Euph, tuba, optional percussion. There are tons of quintet stuff and several 10-piece arrangements, but very,very few 13-pc, hopefully with percussion, too. Hickey's have a few, but there is no way to preview the parts or a score before wasting time and money ordering something that is inappropriate for my ensemble. I have looked through Sibelius and found next to nothing for this type of ensemble. We have a couple members who write original pieces and arrangements for the group, but we need a wider source than they can provide each year. If we can check out the score prior to purchasing, to see if it will fly with our group, we can avoid taking a bunch of stuff on approval only to send it all back if not playable by the group.This is costly with postage and usually a waste of time.
Anyone have a better source that will suit our situation? All suggestions are very welcome! Feel free to answer on the board (There are probably several others facing the same problem who might benefit as well.) or PM me with suggestions. As always, many thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies so far! Some are new to me and I'm investigating them. Some, like King, are,of course,familiar; the problem with them is that they are not very user-friendly regarding approval or on-line viewing/listening to first be certain they are appropriate for the ensemble in need.

Have you tried Solid Brass - www.sldbrass.com/ ? I bought many arrangements from them back when I had a county-wide HS brass ensemble. Also, look into the brass band section of the web page. Many of the arrangements have been transposed for traditional brass ensemble instrumentation.

Yes, we have many arrangements/compositions from Solid Brass. Those that are suitable have all been programmed to death! We need new pieces to add to the library.

Someone on another board suggested a work by a Finnish composer named Einojuhani Rautavaara,b. 1928-- a piece called "A Requiem for our Times", written for 13-piece brass and percussion. Does anyone know of this work? It is not listed with the other 53 works on Boosey's list for the composer. It does sound interesting.

A Requiem for our Times is recorded on The Finnish Brass Ensembles CD Early works for Brass. Thats all I know.
