Wilhelm Concertino for Trumpet and Euph. or Euph. and Tuba

Post by ThomasP »

I've played the Wilhelm Concertino for Tuba and heard other works by Wilhelm. I believe this is his newest work for Tuba or Euphonium.

I've heard and read that this piece is for Trumpet and Euphonium or Euphonium and Tuba. Has anyone done it with Euphonium and Tuba, if so, how did you do it? I talked to Sheet Music Service and the version they have only has a Trumpet and Euphonium part with the piece. So is there transposition involved or do the players just need insane chops? (assuming that the trumpet and euph. parts are high) Any help would be appreciated.

euphonium reading the trumpet treble effect would be down an octave), and the tuba either as written or down an octave bass. :?:

That would be the way I would think it's done, but have you done this yourself or seen it done this way? I'm wondering if that's the composer's intentions. I have seen it at festmusik.com advertised for euph. and tuba, so I know the composer probably had some intentions.

I have not done it this way myself, just speculating
