If you look further on the Cleveland Orchestra's roster you will see that Rick Stout also plays 2nd trombone. The desigination of "principal" in regards to bass trumpet and euphonium most likely reflects Mr. Stout's contract in which he is compensated at a higher principal rate for his work when he plays these solo parts.

I think Rick Stout still has another 25-30 years to go before he retires. He has only been in the Cleveland Orchestra for four seasons. :?
