Before you go pouring goop in your valves, check the alignment of the pistons with the casings. If that's messed up, not even Karo corn syrup is going to help you.

Hey, my 1971 BBb comp valves, with the exception of that one miniscule bit of plating that came off the edge of a port, are in great shape! And I've only owned if for less than a year of its 35 "well loved" years!

Is this something that happened suddenly or that developed gradually over time? Do some valve combinations seem to be worse than others or are they all equally troublesome?

I take for granted that at one time, this horn was just fine or else you wouldn't have bought it.

There might be a solder joint or waterkey cork leaking somewhere.
