I see nothing that says one can plate the alloy. Kinda puts it out of the question for tubas...

It could be possible to make bells from the the sheeting, or leadpies from the tubing.
Thought I already mentioned it--germanium--and of course, some copper.

Germanium - isn't that the element used in the first generation transistors? Now we will have to advertise it as "solid state" metal!! :D

Germanium is currently a very hot technology as part of Si-Ge high-frequency circuits. It looks very promising for 2-10 GHz telecomm applications.
