Ed's OK! He is by far the most well known tuba player in Seattle, but I'm sure people recognize that he's an exception to the normally glamorous tuba player image. The blue hair would have to be a wig or something.

Ed hangs out by McCaw Hall all the time (home of PNB and Seattle Opera). He can mostly play anything by ear for a buck or two.

When I moved out here I was told that he wears the helmet because people used to throw quarters at him from the top of the old Kingdome.

Ed is a genuinely nice guy. It is nearly impossible to stump him. If you want to see a smile on his face, ask for the Husky fight song. DLH

He can be found at nearly every major sporting event in Seattle and manages to make enough money to support himself.

As a musician, by the definition that he can take care of himself financially, he is far more successful than I have been.

I wish him nothing but the best and always find some money for him whenever I hear him playing.

Wow, what a character. Well, I'm not so sure about the Husky fight song, but other than that, all props to Ed. Now I wish I could meet the guy. I don't get to too many Mariners games living in D.C.

Ed is doing something that many of us wish we could do... make a living playing the tuba.
