I've got one and it's very useful--for filling bottles.

I don't use it because I don't sound good on it.
One of the major orchestral
tubists during the 1960's tried to play this mouthpiece in the orchestra. He couldn't make it sound good either, so I'm in good company.

Wow, people sure spend a lot of money at eBay on a mouthpiece they can get at the music store for a third of the price!

Do you know of a music store that sells Dr. Young mouthpieces? At $30, I could use one for a gearshift knob.

That would be true if you could find one of these at a music store. I challenge you to find one for any price in a music store. They are not easily found these days.
My interest is to have one to display along with my other historic mouthpieces. I would never intend to play with it, although one of the tuba players in one of the bands in which I play uses one as his primary MP on a Miraphone 186.

There really isn't much difference in this mouthpiece and an old Conn H2, which I used to use on gigs until I got a Helleberg clone (for 30 bucks).
