I learned how to play with braces. I will say that it got easier to play when they were removed sometime at the end of my Freshman year. I HATED braces and had them for 3 or 4 years. You will probably have to relearn those notes since a pulled tooth and braces can affect how you move your embouchure when play from low to high. Best of luck and just hang in there! I know those braces can tear up your inner lips after some heavy rehearsing.

Braces were nothing compared to playing with partial denture plates. I am fortunate in that I was able to keep all my incisors. As an added bonus feature, when I take out my dentures, I get a killer pedal range!

You only wear braces for a short period but you wear dentures for the rest of your life (at least until just before senility kicks in). Some people thought for me that braces were a waste because I lost most of the teeth that were being straightened. But I got over that. I lost my teeth due to a life threatening illness and I am glad to be alive.

But when you need dentures, you can ask for advice from me.
