G&W Taku, Wahoo!

Post by tubafour »

I just received my Taku in the mail today, and man, am I amazed! From the moment I put it in my horn, I noticed the intense focus. If my TU-29 was a spotlight of sound, the Taku is the laser pointer. Nothing is wasted. Every ounce of air is fabricated into sound. I also was stunned by how much better the overtones of my horn are. I haven't tried it in an ensemble yet, but I will at 9 AM in the morning. I'll give you an update on the performance in the ensemble tomorrow.

I don't know if anyone wants to hear this. I love getting tuba toys, and I'm very excited.

I salute Giddings and Webster for the engineering and entrepreneurship (spelling?) that goes into these pieces. Thank you!

I tried Giddings and Webster's Alan Baer signiture mouthpiece at the tuba conference yesterday, and the control on it is amazing, and well as a quality sound.

i will end up getting one once i get some more money
