Pat Sheridan is appearing with San Jose Wind Symphony Sunday

Post by dave »

The San Jose Wind Symphony concert this Sunday (5/23/2004) will have Pat Sheridan as guest artist.

The concert is at the Milpitas Community Center (map:
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=VV ... ry=us&cat=), tickets are only $5.00 and are available at the door (but come early, seating is limited and since the city of Milpitas underwrites this concert every year there is always a good turnout), the concert starts at 3:00, and the program is "Mostly Marches", but not your average marches:

BONELLI
Symphonic Concert March
DONIZETTI/ROSSINI
Two Marches for the Sultan Abdul Medjid
CHABRIER
Marche Joyeuse
WAGNER
Huldigungsmarsch
GRAINGER
Lads of Wamphray
HINDEMITH
March from Symphonic Metamorphosis
BERLIOZ
Damnation of Faust (Hungarian March)
LEEMANS
Marche des Parachutistes Belges
HANSSEN
Norwegian March "Valdres"
SOUSA
Stars and Stripes Forever (with Pat playing the Picolo part)

In addition, Pat will play
RIMSKY-KORSAKOV
Flight of the Tuba Bee
DOUGHTY
Grandfathers Clock
PONCE
Estrellita
RIMMER
Hailstorm

At the rehearsal this week, Pat sat in the tuba section and it was a lot of fun. If you have the opportunity to do the same, I highly recommend it.
Pat will sit in the tuba section during the concert as well, so the Berlioz will be worth the price of admission.
