Can anyone give me a suggestion on who to use shipping a tuba from Canada to the US? I am in the toronto area. UPS, Purolator, canada Post all say it is too big.

Thanks

That leaves two more to check: FedEx ground and DSL. The problem may not be the actual size, it may be that to get it from "there" to "here" may be that it has to be brokered through another company that really can't ship it.

I don't remember the dimensions but I just shipped a Miraphone 186 in its flight case from California to Florida using UPS. It weighed over 80lbs and cost right at $100. Call UPS to confirm: 800-742-5877

Goodluck! :D

The Tuba Exchange used to send tubas out by Greyhound bus. I don't know, but they still might do it. Check into that option. The tuba would be collected at the local station.

FedEx ground will be able to help you. You can get a quote online at Fedex.com. I checked on the cost of shipping a sousa from Montreal to me in California and it was about $130 (usd) just last week. They are my main shipping company but I think UPS will ship oversized packages international.

Good luck!
