Tubby the tuba

Post by tmuabxa »

Ok, So we sight read tubby the tuba in class today and not everyone liked it. The trumpet players were pritty open about not liking it, but I think that that is just because they are grumpy trumpeters. Anyway if any of you jave ever prepared tubby the tuba in band I would like your opinion on it.

(the last time my band played the piece was in 1980  )

Get one of the old 78 recordings. It was the Danny Kaye recording that actually caused me to want to play tuba!

Or you can down load that very recording from this site:

I am told that the unbilled tuba soloist is George Boujie.

I did the band arrangement for my senior recital in college, using the town band for my accompaniment.
