Revueltas

Hello Chris, This is one we have to play pretty often in Mexico. I will scan the part and send it to you by Tuesday or so. Revueltas wrote some of the most interesting and challenging parts for tuba that exist. According to the Revueltas scholar, Roberto Kolb, Revueltas adapted the band and group playing that he heard in the streets to his symphonic compositions. If the Sinaloa style with the wild and fast tuba lines is any indication, there must have been some pretty virtuoso playing in the bass lines in Revueltas' day. Besides the well-known "Sensemaya", there are many other challenging parts for tuba in Revueltas, such as "Noche de los Mayas", "Esquinas", the film score "Redes" and many others. John
