1st encounter with CSO York

Post by tubeast »

Hey people, just wanted to share that at last Mr. Pokorny´s Excerpt CD was in the mail. Thanks, bunch, for pointing me towards that CD. It sure is lightening some discussions up a bit for me. I think even though I won´t be found practising excerpts in the near future, there´s lots to learn from it.

What a cool horn, and what a great player to serve it!!

It's really great to hear him play solo and talk. He makes some great points. As far as the horn, I seem to remember that there were 3 horns he used on that CD, and he got that job way before he got that horn, so let's try to remember we are hearing a great musician, one who sounds incredible on every horn he plays.
Peace.

I heard GP play a recital at the MWRTEC last Spring. He was playing the YamaYork. I couldn't believe the control and sensitivity he could create on that giant thing.

He truely is amazing.
