R&b Artists for inspiration?

Anyone have thoughts on the area of old school (and new) R&B vocalists being looked at in the area of good tuba playing? If so,who?

Actually, a few more words: Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Stevie Wonder, George Benson -- and, not to forget the ladies: Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, and the QUEEN of Soul, Aretha Franklin!
