Tuba and tape?

Does anybody know of some good tuba and tape solos out there? I'm currently working on one of my own, and want to get a good idea of what I do, (and don't) want in a solo. I've already thought about trying to get both Fractured Mambos by Ruggiero and Cadence VI by Henri Lazarov. Incidentally, does anyone know where I could purchase either of these two solos? Just curious.

I've got one for you, titled "Malta". I hacked at it in grad school and it left me depressed. It's over the top weird. Might be hard to find, I do know that the University of New Mexico library has a copy. It was written by a comp teacher at the University of Buffolo, is (was published), and recorded by someone (maybe Dutton)? This piece would be a fine example for you. Draw your own conclusions please.

Tuba and tape?

Alan Raph, legendary New York bass trombonist, had a tuba double on his last Broadway show (a revival of Annie). The horn had numerous leaks and a loose garland on the bell... all repaired with duct tape.

As for the Fractured Mambos... Perhaps you should contact the composer. I'm sure he would be delighted to hear of your interest in his music and help you locate the music.

Thanks for the replies. "Malta" looks especially interesting. I'm currently going through a phase of trying to find new timbres and sounds which can be made through the horn, so I should enjoy this piece.

I've heard a few of the Neal Corwell compositions. I think the composition is good, but the tape accompaniment sounds a little "dated" (read: Star Trek type synths).
