Getting a Gig Bag for a Bell Front Tuba

Hey, Tubenetters!

I was wondering if anyone has ever had a gig bag custom made for their bell front Conn 2XJ, Martin, York, etc.? If so, did you opt for the one-piece or two-piece design? Right now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, trying to decide if I want to be seen walking around with a huge "coffin" on my back again (like with my custom Altieri helicon bag, which is massive but works wonderfully) or toting around a low-profile bag in two pieces. It's not a matter of "how fast I can pull the horn out of its bag and play" so a two-piece bag would suffice just fine. Ms. Altieri will be taking my order soon but I need help deciding on which. If you've had experience with this subject please chime in with your story. Thanks :D !

I have a York Master bell front and if I turn the bell slightly to the left it barely fits in my large Pro-Tec (Model 240) gig bag. The same gig bag that fits my 6/4 Holton 345! You will need to get a bag that will fit a 22" bell. The Pro-Tec bags are not that expensive. You can find them all over the internet for about $160.
