If you can get a Bohm & Meinl 5500 for under 3 g you should grab it. It's a great horn! Just remember to use 3rd valve for high G and low G. The King 2341 is very nice, but stuffy in the low register due to its small bore. The B&M's .750" bore makes it wide open. I bought one for myself and then ordered a B&M valve section for my helicon, which I still use.

The low register can be a little stuffy on the 4 valve models, especially on anything using 1st valve. I have a 5th valve flat wholestep (alternate slide for 1/2 step) that corrects this problem, and it cranks in the low register.Art Hovey wrote:If you can get a Bohm & Meinl 5500 for under 3 g you should grab it.
