OK. So I currently have a small EEb (983) and a larger EEb (YEB632). I looking to round off my stable with a large CC.
1. Must be 4 piston 1 rotary.
2. Must have a large sound.
3. Must have a good low range.
4. Must be in stock. (No 6-12 month waiting period.)
5. Must be a new horn.
6. Must be less than $8500 US.
7. I will not have the opportunity to try the instrument before I buy.
What am I looking at? Besson 995 (are they still available?), PT-20, MW 2145, anything else?
This should be my last "what to buy" post! Thanks for indulging me.

I think you should add the Miraphone 1291 or 1292 to your list. I don't know how Miraphone categorizes it, but I'd call it a 5/4. It puts out a ton of sound, and is extremely nimble. Definitely a fun horn to play and a great bargain.Manituba wrote: 1. Must be 4 piston 1 rotary.

1. yes
2. yes
3. YES
4. readily available
5. yes
6. Easily in your price range
7. Roger Lewis at Brasswind will pick you out a great one.

Yes, I've played many a PT-6 and it would be my first choice. However, I do not believe it retails under $8500.
I don't necessarily need a large instrument, just a large sounding instrument.
Conditions 1-3 are mine. Conditions 4-7 are imposed upon me.
I will definitely look into the Miraphone.
Thanks,
Chris
