I am curious if anyone from the list happens to be at Ithaca College currently? I had heard Dave Unland was having some serious health issues and was hoping someone might have an update.

PM might be the best way to contact me or direct email.

Thanks for any responses to this.

I heard from Dave today. He did have surgery and he is recovering and planning to be back in the Fall. I know he was missed at IC this past year and we all wish him well. Dave is a fine person, besides being a monster player and teacher.

I studied with Dave from 1997-2001 and I have the utmost respect for him. I heard a little about his sickness a few months ago. I'm glad to hear that his is recovering from surgery and will return to teaching. Bill, do you know who is covering for him this semester? Is it Ed Diefes or perhaps Chuck England? Thanks! :) We've been praying for you Dave!!!

Dave is currently resting at home in "some pain" as described to me by faculty members when I went back to visit over spring break. I imagine that he's doing better now but will go in for more chemo when his body recovers from surgery just as a precaution. Ed Diefes is currently filling in for him. Last I knew the plan was that Dave would to make it in for some recitals later this semester.

I thought I would bump this post to give everyone an update on dave. he was able to make two saturdays of recitals at the begining of April and has been recovering well from the surgery. he also made it in for two rep. classes and each time i see him he appears to be doing better. he is in tremedously high spirits, mostly fueled by his desire to get back to IC and teach in the fall.

his email is dunland@ithaca.edu and he would love to hear from past students and friends
