Yes, if you can play a Bach 18, you can go from there to anything you like. I started back on a borrowed Blessing version, and went to a Wick 1 for my Besson and a Kelly 18 for my souzy from there. You're right on for the Bb major scale, descending. Start with long, moderate tones, playing only a total of a few minutes at a time with lots of breaks and lots of water. You're on your way! You may find you like this horn enough to follow through on the "own" part of the "rent-to-own."

I am in the DFW area. I teach tuba/euphonium at TCU and have a used circa 1977 4 valve 186 Miraphone BBb for under $3,000. It is in very good shape and plays great. E-mail me privately if you are interested.

I have not seen this horn, but since you are dealing with two trusted names(Richard Murrow & Miraphone), you are likely getting a good horn at a decent price. I'd definitely recommend you check this out.
