I know someone relocating to Mtn View, CA (Google it!) sometime this summer. He's a competent eupher looking for amateur playing opportunities. If you have hints on the local community band scene, please PM me (or, go ahead and post here).
I know about the Community Band listings and have found 3-4 obvious possibilities from Palo Alto to San Jose. If you have inside info...please post the praise here and PM the dirt.

Mountain View High School in Mountain View (not to be confused with Mountain View High School in El Monte, which is near Los Angeles) has had a fine high school band since I was in high school 35 years ago. I am sure with the abundance of former high school bandsmen in the town, there should be plenty of amateur playing activities.

I noticed on this site that the identification unit that precedes the band in parades has MTN VIEW written as an abbreviation. Maybe that's the way they spell it now!
