Shortly before selling my baby grand, my wife put a freshly iced cake on top. In the direct sunlight. Needless to say, the icing melted all over the wooden lid. She decided to "do the right thing" and clean it up before I got home. She used a metal butter knife. To scrape all the icing off. That was now melted into the woodgrain. Yeah. Took a lot of time with good quality wood oil polishes and woodstain scratch removers to make the lid look presentable again, and it was still noticeable in a few spots.pulseczar wrote:you can scrape it.....![]()

Grind or drill out the green spots, and fill the holes with Bondo, which should be sanded and spray painted a silver color to blend.the elephant wrote:How can you remove green corrosion from silver plate using things from around the house?
Well, if an obtuse angle is required - bloke is your man.bloke wrote:Chide, flame, or laugh:

This requires a very steady hand, and a very sharp single-edged razor blade positioned at a very obtuse angle.
