Gig Bag

I recently purchased a Cerveny "Piggy" CCB 603-4MRX tuba, 15.75" bell, 35.83" height. It came with a Brasswind gig bag, which #1 fits rather loosely, #2 it does not have back pack straps.

I've been thinking about attaching straps and even spoke to a shoe repairman (with a HD sewing machine) about attaching them. I've also searched the internet for a gig bag made specifically for the Piggy, but haven't found any. One popular case I found was the Gard Small Tuba Case 16"x38"

Another bag I'm looking at is on ebay right now which measures outside 19"x38", inside bell is 17" which would probably fit my horn http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1 Any opinions about this one?

Before I go through the pains of altering the bag that I already own, I want more information on the Gard and Bach bags, and others.

Or maybe, does anyone happen to have a suitable "small tuba bag" with back-pack type straps on it?

Thanks,
George

The "stock" case for the Piggy seems a little shorter than your horn, but there's a Gronitz case that fits closer. Also, Glenn Cronkhite can made a custom bag to fit any size. Give Steve Ferguson a call.

Another source for the Cronkhites is Irvin Karan of www.slidebone.com. I've bought my Cronkhite bags from him. Excellent service and a nice guy to work with.

Can't go wrong with either.
