Removing Silver Plate

Post by jmh3412 »

A question for all the technical geniuses,

Is there a simple (ha ha ha ) way to remove silver plate from a tub awhich is now almost 80% bare brass. It looks ugly as is is, and with bare brass at least you have the option to replate or lacquer.
Composers shouldn't think too much -- it interferes with their plagiarism.

Easiest:

320 grit wet sandpaper followed by 600, then 1000 then buffing. If it had more silver than you say, I'd recommend that a plating business strip it.
