There is one piece I played a couple years ago...

Variations for Tuba and Winds (The Cobbler's Bench) by Arthur Frackenpohl. This is a theme and variations on "Pop Goes the Weasel." It's not too terribly difficult. It's quite cute and is a crowd pleaser. The band parts are easy, but are a little strange. This is best with the band on one per part.

There are also band arrangements of the RVW and the Gregson, but I think they are quite difficult (esp the RVW parts for the band).

I think you can find the topic discussed at quite some length a while back.

I have the great fortune to be playing Mozart's 3rd Horn concerto, with a community band, tomorrow evening. It is a great piece, and it sounds good w/band!

The band transcription is available through Robert King, I believe.
