I try to avoid using, "Oh my God", "awsome" and limit myself to only one "like" per sentence.
There is also something about the term/cliche "greatest thing since sliced bread" that really puts me off.

Hey, everyone has their repeatable phrases, both that they say without noticing, and that they hear and are annoyed by.

One that has gotten to me these days is "sort of". When I listen to Washington braniacs, I frequently hear them use "sort of" as, sort of, an apology for the inflammatory comment they are about to make. The passive-aggressiveness of it drives me wild. It has become a cliche for the intelligentsia, which adds to the amusement.

When my kids were little, they'd say "Holy Moly - Roger Bobo!"

I'll bet there aren't many kids who grew up saying that.

Some people say it because of Matthew 5:32-37 which talks about unnecessary swearing, and just answering the question when asked. So they say "word" instead of any other curse. But, of course, one form of cursing is self-intensification of or added exclamation to what you are saying, by any form (ranging from the common, "Dammit, I said..." to the innocuous, "[exclamation of a fact that may not be believed]...Really!). So the irony is that in trying to avoid cursing, the person saying, "Oh, my word!" has actually in a benign way cursed anyway.
