Silver Polish

I was curious about what the best polish out there is. Would the Haggerty's silver polishing cream be good for buffing?
How often should I use it and can I do only areas at a time rather than the whole horn?
Thanks,
Kevin

doing small spots on your horn may make it look 'cleaner' than other spots.
I like Haggerty's and Wright's for silver polishing. Both mild and does good work. Haggerty's smells a bit better imo.
I would polish it everytime I take it in for cleaning, or before a big performance. Any more than that would be a bit obsessive compulsive for me.

Wrights or Haggerty's both seem to work well, I like Wrights better myself, but it can be a bit harder to find. Only place I could find it aroud my place was the Food Lion in the next town over. Go figure.
An alternative to polishing that I like is either using a little bit of Windex or Pledge and an old t-shirt on those really grungy spots, or just try breathing on it and rubbing it down with a silver cloth. I just don't like polishing.
And if you do one spot with polish, you'll probably end up doing the whole thing. It's like Ripley said in Aliens: "Uh oh. I made a clean spot here. Now I've done it. Guess I'll just have to do the whole thing."

Ok thanks guys a few questions:
Is it necessary to clean (with water I mean) your horn before polishing?
Can I find Hagerty's in a place like WAL-MART or do i have to order it from a place like WWBW.com?
I noticed a few "dry spots" on my horn already, mostly in edges like the edge of the bow guard and at the solder joint by the leadpipe. Do I have to fix it up right away? If you dont' know what I mean by dry, the horn is smooth and you cant hear the cloth running over it. If you run the cloth over the little darker spot, its not as smooth.
