Hey!! Im curious about how many of you purchase music 'digitally' via email. I see a few pieces here and there with the option making it much cheaper. Is there proof that its legal? Do you print many many copies off as soon as you receive it? .......kinda leery bout it, thanks

Dear Kevin,
As a publisher, I wonder the same thing sometimes. On the other hand, I have decided to jump in see what will happen! Currently I charge the same price for a digital or a hard copy of my publications, but for the digital version it is instant and one does not pay shipping.

Yes these are legal downloads.
I have to believe that people will not take the music and make a bunch of copies and send to a friend, etc. Then again, if one was determined to do send music to others illegally you could do it from a hard copy just as easily. Scanners, copiers, TIFF files into Finale, Sibelius, etc. have made it incredibly easy.
I would be very interested in what others think of digital music. A viable option? I would never consider it? Etc.
