Uhh dont call me stupid, just making sure......... Have you emptied your water keys and slides..........or aare they popping as you move them down?

air pops?.................isnt that common? happens on my horn and a few others Ive played.

My Yamaha YBB-321 does it, as does the Yammy euphonium of the player next to me. Funny though, I never noticed her horn doing it until I got mine and heard it.

I just attributed it to tight valves and thanked the tuba gods that they were so.

That light popping is the difference in air pressure left in the slide (from the last note you played on that valve) to air pressure you are currently using. This light pop can slightly disrupt your embouchure when slurring.

It's normal, if it bothers you vent the valves. I was glad I did.
