Does anyone know just how low the tuba goes in this piece, particularly the section entitled, "Down from the gardens of Asia descending?" Just wondering, it sounds lower than your usual tuba part. And, since it's V-W, the part is a lot more melodic than most other parts. I've never heard this before, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites.

There are definately some bottoom D's littered around, but I think the bit you're talking about is bottom E's. Don't have it to hand, so not 100% sure tho, but that's as I remember anyway.

I really like this work. I have two recordings of this: Atlanta and the LSO. The LSO is better.

There are some low notes in there,; but I'm not sure what they are.

I played this a few months ago... There are a few low D's.. a lot of nice tuba parts, independent of the trombones.
